Small weddings and elopements have become more popular in Algarve last years. The freedom to create a bespoke event with your love and some closer family and or friends is really attractive for some couples. Plan a ceremony elopement on the cliffs, over the beach or at the middle of the forest make the adventure to tie the knot different and really attractive. Even when you are talking about a small destination wedding, the vows and the emotions around the ceremony sound different than when you have a big number of guest around your big day. Last years I have photographed some incredible stories from couples all around the world. I photograph elopements and small weddings as destination photographer in Portugal, Spain and all Europe.

Bao and Eric decided to get married in Algarve and they met with their closest family and friends to tie the knot. From Canada and Europe they traveled to share quality time together in a beautiful, special and relaxed Villa over the sea. They planned an intimate wedding where they could plan the food, the decoration and the best moment to celebrate the ceremony on the cliffs. The family around the couple come from background of artisans, art designers and florist designers and all them put all the love and creativity for the special day. All was prepared with simple taste and full of details. Inspired in a green and boho theme, they chose a luxurious villa near Vilamoura over the cliffs in Algarve. The infinite pool with breathtaking views over the sea, the luxury construction and the art decoration made a perfect place  to get married.

All the details as the florals, wedding cake, table dinner, hair details, were prepared with all the care and affection for all the family. Specially, the mum of the bride, a talented floral designer in Canada, designed all the floral details for the day, using the natural elements presented in the area, as eucalyptus and succulents. The good time with speeches and the good wine at the dinner are unforgettable for the jokes and good time before the cutting cake, where the handmade cake was made with special secret recipe from family and decorated with delicious small red fruits.

A fire camp under the stars and with the sea as background was the icing of the party late at night.

They made me feel like a friend at their wedding, so I could tell their story from my point of view of a non-intrusive way, without disturbing the mood and being able to collect the atmosphere of happiness and joy of this day.
